CONTEMPORARY EARTRAINING
These modern eartraining methods from HARRISON MUSIC EDUCATION SYSTEMS have been used by hundreds of students (from beginners to working professionals) at the internationally-acclaimed Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. Now the acclaimed Eartraining courses written by Mark Harrison (a vital part of the Grove musicianship program) are available to the public! Eartraining is a vital (and sometimes neglected) skill which enables you to 'hear ahead' in your playing and writing, and to better understand and transcribe other music that you hear. Our eartraining methods use the 'SOLFEG' system (i.e. the syllables DO, RE, MI etc.) to apply the techniques within a key-center based 'relative pitch' framework. These books are recommended by the Berklee College of Music, and endorsed by Jazz Times Magazine.
